Take the photo above, here we extended a converted barn, but by remodelling the existing layout in tandem, moving their staircase and corridors into the new extension, we completely transformed the way this house both looks and feels. The Remodel.
Sometimes what you have works, you just don't know it. Here is an example where we kept the completely reworked the existing house, gutting it in order to transform the orientation of its living space whilst creating a new loft storey with both side and rear extensions. The main feature is the entrance hall which we opened up around a new stairwell to achieve a gallery view throughout all floors from the main entrance.

The Combo.
At The Malt House, not only did we extend with a complete new wing, but we reworked the structure within the existing building by inserting a portal frame, enabling us to create an unusual mezzanine within this listed building - over doubling the amount of residential accommodation and transforming the space. All works were designed to integrate contemporary touches within this c18 building, seamlessly merging original features and new structure. The new wing, was also made entirely with steel portal frames to allow for vaulted ceilings and further mezzanine spaces throughout and an elegant double height reception hall. Many of the original feature beams and fire places were exposed and coupled with the introduction of new solid oak staircases, bespoke oak doors, oak floors with underfloor heating and inset lighting...
